Bio

Elina Turjanmaa has a PhD in social psychology and is specialized in migration and family studies. Her recent studies have focused on family reminiscence and mental health, intergenerational transmission of war-related family histories, and integration of immigrant youth. In Mobile Futures, she has worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Oulu (Research Unit for History, Culture and Communications) in the work packages trust in everyday encounters (WP5) and trust in the labour market (WP4). Currently, Turjanmaa works as a University Lecturer at the University of Eastern Finland and will join Mobile Futures again in 2026.
