Bio

Maiju has a Master’s degree in theology, specializing in church sociology. Throughout her career, Maiju has worked with individuals in particularly vulnerable situations, such as NEET youth, unaccompanied minor asylum seekers, and immigrant women who are not active in the labor market. In all of these roles, the goal has been to develop, in collaboration with these individuals, ways to increase their sense of inclusion, trust, and agency at the individual, community, and societal levels. Currently, Maiju leads and develops national participatory futures work at the Diaconess Institute. In the Mobile Futures project, Maiju is involved in developing methods for participatory futures work to promote two-way integration in work package 7: Trust in futures.
