Bio

MA Saara Intonen works as a doctoral researcher at the University of Oulu, research unit of History, Culture and Communications. In her PhD thesis, she studies experiences of forced migration by exploring experiences of Lapland War evacuees (1944–1945) and contemporary refugees in Finland, utilizing oral history research methods and data. Of particular interest are the themes of mutual recognition, belonging and feeling at home. In the Mobile Futures project, she works in the work package trust in everyday encounters (WP5).
