Bio

Zeinab Karimi completed her Ph.D. in sociology at the University of Helsinki in 2020. Her fields of expertise are sociology of migration and family with a specific interest in intergenerational relationships and transmissions, as well as gender, citizenship and critical race studies. Currently, Karimi is working as a postdoctoral researcher at the Department of Cultures, Study of Religions, University of Helsinki, and will later move to Mobile Futures project (WP5) at the University of Oulu to investigate why highly-skilled migrants consider leaving or staying in Finland.
