About the research

In the “Trust in Futures” work package, we want to approach two-way integration from a futures perspective. What will integration look like in 2040? What are the current obstacles to integration? What would a successful Finland with two-way integration look like in the future, and what actions would be required to get there?

The Deaconess Foundation has developed new, more accessible and barrier-free methods and materials together with its clients, so that even those who have previously been left silent can participate when discussing our common future. Within the work package, we organize participatory future workshops for immigrants and people at different stages of integration. Workshops are also held among people with a Finnish background.

The result of the workshops will be images of desirable futures. The work package coordinator, the expert in participatory future work, and the researcher specializing in societal impact will analyze the issues raised in the workshops. Research conducted by other work packages enriches our findings and vice versa. The results will be recommendations and proposals on how two-way integration could be succesful now and in the future.

PRIMARY COLLABORATors

Collaboration is primarily done with the Deaconess Foundation’s own operations. The Deaconess Foundation is a national actor working with, among others, young people outside work and education, undocumented people, mobile populations, unaccompanied minor asylum seekers, and victims of human trafficking.
